Training on United Utilities' recruitment processes and legislative requirements
Features
- E-learning
United Utilities selected Walkgrove to develop a 60-minute bespoke e-learning program based on their Licence to Recruit initiative.
The aim of the e-learning is to provide clarity and guidance to hiring managers on the company’s recruitment process and the relevant associated legislative requirements to ensure both internal compliance to company standards and legislative compliance. The e-learning highlights the various stages of the recruitment process outlining best practice, company standards and legislation.
The main focus is the recruitment cycle, from identifying a need for recruitment to making the offer and clearance. By providing a standardised approach to the recruitment process United Utilities aim to reduce the risk of liability resulting in both financial and public image implications to the organisation, whilst also ensuring a candidate experience that is consistent, efficient and representative of working for United Utilities. The importance of promoting a positive candidate experience is more essential for United Utilities since its caption area for the majority of its recruitment is the North West so it is also highly likely that any person being recruited is a customer.
The e-learning makes an ideal learning point for the promotion of best practice across the organisation to change attitudes and behaviour towards the recruitment process.
Our design is highly interactive and uses activities and interactive presentation screens to convey the learning messages, with minimal on-screen text. The focus is on encouraging learners to learn through interaction, practice and feedback.
In order to keep the e-learning feeling fresh, we avoided typical corporate photography, which is often used in e-learning programs and printed media. Instead, we adopted a sophisticated and modern illustrative style. United Utilities colours and writing style are reflected throughout the overall design and layout of the e-learning.
