High volume, tight timeline development project for one of the UK’s top e-learning agencies
- Mobile friendly, non-responsive
Walkgrove were commissioned by one of the UK’s top e-learning providers to build mobile friendly e-learning modules from storyboards and other assets.
We’re just about to conclude the third phase of the contract and to date, we have built over 500 modules, decision making scenarios and games, each with a duration of between 15 and 30 minutes. The total value of this contract is over £1.4m.
The end user client cannot be disclosed but the content relates to high tech engineering and communications, with topics including communications technology, engineering technology, IT systems training, equipment maintenance and management and leadership skills. Modules range from basic overview and introductory level learning through to complex branching scenarios simulating decision-making processes and fully bespoke games that test knowledge and application, some being provided in multiple languages.
There are several target audiences at various levels of seniority, with some modules intended to be used within a classroom or coaching environment. However, most are self-study modules designed to be accessed and completed at the learner’s own pace.
Working from storyboards and style guides provided by our client, Walkgrove provides a full development service including graphic design and production, development using Articulate Stoyline 360, quality assurance and testing. Graphics range from simple iconography and diagrams through to complex and detailed technical illustrations, bespoke character illustrations, animations and motion graphics. Our team of developers use these assets together with 3D media and audio files provided by our client to build the modules.
The workload and turnaround times are aggressive with batches of completed modules being delivered on a bi-weekly basis. To service the contract we have a team of over 30 developers, graphic artists and testers.
To facilitate smooth and efficient workflows and collaborative working with our client, we adapted our ways working in terms of project management, quality assurance and client communications, establishing robust yet flexible systems and processes that enable us to deal effectively with the inevitable challenges associated with a project of this size, scale and pace.
