Tools for countering financial crime

Features

  • E-learning
  • Story/scenario driven

Walkgrove created an introduction to the principles and tools of detection work and intelligence in countering fraud.

The training need

The NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NFA) provides training in fraud, bribery and corruption investigation, security management and related areas. Their specialist training on countering fraud is nationally recognised.

NHS CFA commissioned Walkgrove to design and develop a range of 30-minute courses as part of their Fraud Specialist and Security Management curricula. As part of the suite, the organisation needed an introduction to detection and intelligence and their roles in countering financial crime in the NHS. The e-learning was required for a diverse range of anti-crime specialists.

Our bespoke learning solution

Walkgrove developed a 30-minute bespoke e-learning course on the importance of intelligence and detection in anti-crime work.

The course explains the basics of how and why the NHS looks for intelligence and undertakes detection work in the organisation. The introductory-level content defines the key terms and principles for learners, providing them with a solid foundation for further training. The modules explore the tools and models that minimise the impact of fraud and their application to the role of counter fraud specialist. Learners are shown how to complete detection exercises in order to identify and mitigate fraud risks.

In addition to professional presentation screens, the custom e-learning content includes worked examples and reflective scenarios in which learners are asked to consider the use of detection and intelligence in realistic situations. The e-learning finishes with an assessment that tests recall of the key content.
