Walkgrove developed a bespoke series of tutorials on a software tool used in employment support programmes.
The training need
Maximus UK is the UK arm of a global outsourcing company that provides business process services to government health and human services agencies, employing nearly 4,000 staff in the United Kingdom.
Maximus commissioned Walkgrove to develop a series of e-learning courses on a range of regulatory and policy topics. As part of the suite, Walkgrove was asked to build a systems training course on WorkQWEST software. The programme is used by Maximus employment consultants who support and monitor job-seekers.
The e-learning was needed to build employee familiarity and confidence with the system before working on caseloads with live data.
Our bespoke learning solution
Walkgrove designed a one-hour comprehensive course on the WorkQWEST system so Maximus employees could explore and understand the case management tools they would need to use on a daily basis.
The bespoke e-learning solution is structured around common processes that learners complete, including accessing and updating case details, completing job-seeker assessments, managing appointments and creating action plans.
Using exact system screen replicas, each module offers learners step-by-step walkthroughs of common processes, highlighting the relevant system buttons, text fields and dialogs to use at each stage. The custom e-learning course includes simple task-based challenges based on realistic case studies to check that learners can use the system to complete day-to-day activities. The challenges include handy hints and tips to direct learners if they struggle to identify the correct action within the software.
To facilitate access to WorkQWEST training and the other e-learning courses in the suite, Walkgrove provided Maximus with Svelte, our simple learning management system.
Walkgrove also customised the WorkQWEST course for another Maximums company, Health Management Limited.
