Walkgrove created a case-study based training on a software tool for employees that complete Fit for Work assessments.
The training need
Health Management Limited (HML) is an independent occupational health provider working for private and public sector clients across the UK. HML and its parent company Maximus UK asked Walkgrove to fulfill their needs for digital training on a variety of regulatory and internal policy topics.
The commissioned range of bespoke e-learning included systems training for employees who complete face-to-face assessments of individuals who are not working due to poor health. The course needed to introduce learners to using the Network Partner Portal (NPP) portal, an essential tool in carrying out Fit for Work assessments.
Our bespoke learning solution
Walkgrove built a bespoke 40-minute e-learning module on the basics of the NPP for health professionals. The module contains a mix of information and activities that familiarise learners with the portal and its contents, including how to access and navigate the NPP, the content of each section and where assessment information must be entered or completed.
The custom e-learning design includes exact replicas of portal screens with clickable and scrollable elements that enable learners to explore NPP functions. To make the systems tutorial content interesting and easy to absorb, the course uses a single case study of one person’s Fit for Work assessment. Learners receive a walk-through of using the portal software to fill in all the required assessment details.
The course is highly interactive and learners are frequently required to reflect on the information provided and choose or describe an appropriate course of action. At the end of the course, learners must also undertake a 10-question self-assessment.
In addition to this systems training, Walkgrove supplied a range of other courses to HML via their parent company Maximus, including modules on safeguarding and equality and diversity.
To help HML to facilitate access to their learning courses and track learner completion and performance, Walkgrove provided them with our lightweight learning management system, Svelte.
