Practical tools for inclusion in the workplace
Walkgrove created an impactful and practical module to promote inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace.
The training need
The ILO is a specialised agency of the UN which focuses on the world of work. Bringing together governments, employers and workers, it aims to promote rights at work, encourage decent employment opportunities, enhance social protection and strengthen dialogue.
As part of its efforts to tackle the disadvantaged situation of people with disabilities in the world of work, the ILO wanted to raise awareness of relevant issues among its own staff. The ILO needed an e-learning module that would give employees the knowledge and confidence to make disability inclusion a part of their everyday lives at work.
The online primer on disability inclusion had to be suitable for a diverse staff team of 3,000 people, including all levels of seniority and expertise, cultural background and experience.
Our bespoke learning solution
Walkgrove created a 60-minute bespoke e-learning course for the ILO to strengthen the confidence and commitment of its workforce to promoting disability inclusion. Each module covers helpful information including: understanding modern ways of thinking about disability, how to interact respectfully with people with disabilities and what the ILO is doing on inclusion more broadly.
In addition to clear tutorial screens to explain principles and tools, the course uses frequent realistic scenarios featuring a diverse range of characters and situations that challenges learners to make inclusive decisions. Scenarios were carefully designed to help learners to empathise with the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and to facilitate practical application of course knowledge into day-to-day working life.
