Preparing for continuity after disruptive incidents

Features

  • E-learning

Walkgrove created a practical introduction to Business Continuity steps and procedures.

The training need

Former multinational facilities management and construction services company, Carillion, commissioned Walkgrove to create an introduction to Business Continuity. The course needed to cover essential measures for keeping company services running in the event of a disruptive incident.

Carillion required a simple but practically-focused training intervention that would enable staff teams to make their own analyses and plans for Business Continuity purposes.

Our bespoke learning solution

Walkgrove designed a 30-minute bespoke e-learning course to give learners a basic understanding of Carillion’s Business Continuity planning process. As well as outlining the importance of Business Continuity to the company’s performance, the learning modules detail key roles and responsibilities, procedures and forms that support Business Continuity activity. Learners are also equipped with the knowledge and skills to complete a Business Impact Analysis and draw up and rehearse a Business Continuity Plan.

The custom e-learning design includes clear learning screens presenting simple and easy-to-apply guidance, supported by full audio and memory-boosting visual aids. Throughout the learning modules, learners are signposted to helpful documents and further practical guidance. A resources section also signposts learners to company-wide Business Continuity communities, including a dedicated intranet and chat forum.

The course finishes with a ten-question assessment to test learner understanding of key Business Continuity principles and practices.
