London Criminal Justice Board

The London Criminal Justice Board required the design and piloting of a bespoke one-day fit for purpose training module aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of Criminal Justice Service (CJS) staff in undertaking Community Engagement (CE) with members of the public.

The overall aim of this project was to improve the knowledge and skills of CJS staff in undertaking community engagement with members of the public. The module was intended for use either as part of existing training programmes or delivered as part of cross-CJS events and was supplemented by a Workbook available from the London Criminal Justice Board website.

The key benefits to the CPS of letting the contract through Buying Solutions were:

  • Confidence: The Buying Solutions’ impartial selection and accreditation process assures buyers of the successful organisations’ competence and performance capability and is the key to reducing risk.
  • Reduced costs: CPS significantly reduced their procurement costs by going directly to three quality assured suppliers
  • Reduced time: The project had to be completed by 31st March and the contract was only let in the last week of February following submission of quotes and interviews. The client was delighted.

Sustainability - Covering the underpinning knowledge elements via an online fifty page workbook increased accessibility and certainly saved a few trees!

Client feedback: “Walkgrove Limited has proved organisationally efficient in producing project documentation and qualitatively effective in developing training materials to the specification and in doing so demonstrated it was responsive to feedback provided. All milestones were met on time within the agreed budget. ”
